Pao Pao won People’s Choice Awards at Nordic Game — A Stellar debut from an outstanding team

We’re excited to announce that Pao Pao, developed by our talented partners at ArtDock, has won the People’s Choice Award at this year’s Nordic Game Conference!

This marks a major milestone not only for Pao Pao, but for the entire team — Nordic Game was their first public showcase, where both Pao Pao and Lootbound made their official debut.

The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. From heartfelt conversations with fellow developers to enthusiastic feedback from players, the energy around Pao Pao was electric — and this award is a reflection of that.

What makes this award especially meaningful is that it was chosen by real players and attendees — people who experienced the game firsthand and voted with genuine excitement and heartfelt support. Their passion and encouragement are what made this moment possible.

Our team had the pleasure of attending Nordic Game in Malmö, Sweden — one of the most prominent games industry events in Europe. Known for bringing together developers, publishers, and creatives from around the world, Nordic Game offers a unique space for inspiration, networking, and the celebration of all things game development.

For us, this was more than just a conference — it was our debut appearance as a publisher in the world of game development. And what a debut it was. We had the chance to meet countless talented, passionate people who truly love what they do. Every conversation, every handshake, and every demo booth reminded us just how vibrant and welcoming this industry can be.

Beyond the connections and new faces, the experience offered valuable insight into current trends, challenges, and opportunities across the industry. We’re returning from Sweden with fresh ideas, new partnerships, and a strong sense of purpose for the road ahead.

The ArtDock team has returned from Shanghai with a major victory: their game Pao Pao was named the most notable title of ChinaJoy 2025 and received the show’s top award from the event organizers themselves.

ChinaJoy is the largest gaming event in Asia, attracting over 300,000 visitors annually. This year, the exhibition brought together publishers, developers, and players from all over the world - but it was Pao Pao, created by a team from Moldova, that drew the most attention among hundreds of projects. For ArtDock, this is not their first win at an international festival. Back in May, Pao Pao claimed the Grand Prize at Nordic Game in Sweden, one of Europe’s most prestigious industry events. Among dozens of nominees from around the globe, the majority of participants cast their votes for Pao Pao.

Pao Pao is a vibrant open-world adventure filled with quirky characters and unique quests. Players explore islands, build their own farms, gather rare resources, and turn a tiny restaurant into a true legend. On Steam, the game has already surpassed 100,000 wishlists, and its demo version is available to everyone.

Next on ArtDock’s calendar is the massive Gamescom conference in Cologne, running from August 20 to 24. There, the studio will showcase two titles: the award-winning Pao Pao from ChinaJoy and Nordic Game, as well as their new project, Lootbound. This strategic roguelike, set in a dark fantasy world, features turn-based tactical combat, an inventory system, and mechanics inspired by classic dungeon-and-dragon adventures.

Pao Pao is a cozy cooperative adventure filled with playful chaos and plenty of charm. Players will step into a whimsical world where teamwork is the key to success — whether it’s managing tasks, handling unexpected challenges, or simply enjoying the lighthearted atmosphere with friends.

This is the very first opportunity to experience the game hands-on. By joining the playtest, you’ll get a sneak peek at the latest build and play an important role in helping us refine the gameplay, fine-tune the balance, and create the best possible version of Pao Pao ahead of release.
